On Sept. 19, 2017, Life Care Centers of America was honored at the Chattanooga Area Brain Injury Association’s Annual Picnic and Awards Program Celebration with the organization’s Community Service Award.
Christy Manis, business development director at Life Care Center of East Ridge, Tennessee, accepted the award on behalf of the company. Manis has been involved on CABIA’s board of directors for two years, including during her time with Life Care Center of Cleveland, Tennessee, before she transitioned to the new East Ridge facility.
“CABIA a fantastic organization,” said Manis, “and Life Care Center of East Ridge is a neuro-focused facility. Therefore, we want to be heavily involved. It’s a win-win situation, not only for us, but for the patients and business relationships we’ve formed from the partnership.”
In addition to having a presence on the board, Life Care recently provided CABIA with a new logo and brochure, designed by Rob Pauza, director of the Graphic Services department.
“Because they’re a non-profit and are funded by a grant, they rely heavily on their board members for assistance and connections,” Manis shared.
Several other local facilities also participated in CABIA’s annual spring conference, which features experts in the field. CABIA’s board of directors encompasses leaders, therapists and physicians from organizations such as Siskin Hospital, HealthSouth Rehab, Erlanger Hospital, ResCare HomeCare, Kindred Hospital and Hosanna House.
